A Novel Slot-PM Assisted Complementary-Rotor Doubly Salient Machine With Enhanced Torque Performance

This article presents a novel doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) machine with enhanced torque performance. The key is that an assistive magnetic flux produced by using two sets of slot PMs inserted into the openings, which can effectively improve production. Besides, complementary path built dual rotors 180° angle shift to reduce leakage flux, suppress ripple. In this article, proposed design presented, including working principle, winding configuration, analysis. Then, Genetic Algorithm used find optimal designs for machine. Further, verify effectiveness machine, three machines are compared, DSPM without PM design, and dual-rotor rotor structure. Finally, prototype tested validity design.
